In the last days I stayed in Washington, the sky was no longer gloomy and full of snow. The bright sunlight of the early spring shone everywhere. The snow has melted, with only a few small snow piles remaining. I decided to go to the church I saw during my stay here, whether from the balcony of the room or on the road. It’s Washington church, the full name is Washington-National-Cathedral (WNC).
The church is officially named Cathedral Church of Saint Peter and Saint Paul (St. Peter’s and Saint Paul’s Church), is the 6th largest church in the world and the second largest in America. This church is special in that it is not only large but also built for a long time, from 1907 to 1990. Every time people build each part of this church.
The massive Washington church sits on a hill. The walk to the church is also beautiful. Amidst the chill of winter, amidst the blazing sun, both sides of the trees with no leaves and the quiet scenery were great. This church is so big and beautiful that, at some corner is not a church to pray, I thought I was walking into an ancient castle in Europe.
Saying goodbye to the quiet Washington DC, I set out for New York. The crowded, boisterous, light-colored lights, skyscrapers, the Statue of Liberty, etc. made me not nervous for the trip to New York.
It was also a cold winter morning. It was so cold just to sit in the house watching the snow outside the window was fun. Not familiar with the cold, I was afraid to drag myself to the street. Then I finally pulled the suitcase to take the train to Dupont Circle. From here, I waited for the bus to pick up to New York. Tickets I asked you to buy earlier online. Buy tickets to the bus online! Very convenient and always make sure you have tickets. However, the amount of money waiting for the bus outside the sidewalk is really extreme. The cold wind kept hitting the face, people trembled every time. I had to rush into the hall of a building right away for wind. That morning it was murky and there was no sunshine. Seeing the weather, New York is much colder than Washington DC.
Waiting for a bit, the Washington Deluxe bus also arrived. Car is big, clean and especially with … wifi. Interesting. I told myself that I just went to Facebook to check-in every place I went to. Later I found out that the wifi on the bus was so slow, it was always new to the website. But the feeling of sitting on the car was very happy, warm and not uncomfortable by a pile of woolen coats, just watching the snow and the scenery outside.
The car began to transfer the cake. The car is not crowded. There are some middle-aged women, white men, 2 Greek girls. He is a black driver, I am Asian. Ice car on the wide road with many lanes. The car ran fast, rushed and very quiet. I don’t want to close my eyes and sleep but want to watch the roadside scenery. The ride is 4 hours and I don’t want to waste time. I know that both sides of the road will be just white snow fields with bare, dry trees. However, such things are attractive, a wanderer from Asia is warm.
The car runs for 2 hours and stops for the guests to eat and drink. I bought a hot Starbuck in a hurry to bring it to the car. “What is your name?” – The saleswoman asked? “My name is Frankie” – I replied. She wrote my name on the body of the paper cup, something I never saw when I bought Starbuck coffee in Bangkok. An interesting thing to see “strange things”. It was sunny. The bright rays of sunlight shone through the bus window. I just let it be so that the sun shines directly on me. Every skyscraper has appeared far away. With some familiar buildings, I realized I was going to New York.
