Wandering American roads (pt4) – the winding road to “The Capitol”

Posted on July 10, 2022December 28, 2022

It is a waste to come to WST DC without visiting famous architecture buildings. The Capitol, or the US Congress headquarters, is one of WST DC’s oldest buildings and the United States.

One sunny afternoon, the weather was still cold to the point of being numb, I began a walk to visit the WST DC animals. Out in the sky, the snow is still there, not melting. WST DC still retains its romantic winter features. The previous times, though they went round but full of cars, they could not feel the atmosphere and life here.

In DC, traveling in the center is also quite comfortable because of the widespread subway system. I took the train to the Federal Center SW and walked on to the Capitol. The metro system in DC looks so old and dark, not modern and shiny as the newly built metro system in Bangkok. The sound is noisy. The ship is also old, the seat looks old but it is quite clean. Only the ship shook so crazy that initially it got drunk … ship. However, I was interested in this train system, which looked something very romantic. Maybe I am the one who likes to travel so I see.

But on the train in WST DC there are some interesting things. Once I was on a train, a black guy suddenly shouted, “Sorry, I was missing a dollar to pay for the train ticket. Who can give me 1 dollar? ” A guest on the train waved him back, giving 1 dollar. He thanked. I heard that it was a “polite” kind of begging and sometimes there were 1, 2 guys who asked for this type of trains to be caught and punished.

Arriving at the Federal Center SW, I walked along the deserted streets of WST DC. The American capital sometimes startled me because it was so deserted compared to Hanoi or Ho Chi Minh City, the two largest cities of Vietnam. I think DC must be more bustling.

Passing through the streets with the remains of snow after the storm, I sometimes see squirrels gnawing on something on the fence or the roadside. DC squirrels look clean, friendly and bold. In the United States, there is no such thing as poaching. Some people even bring things to the squirrels, so they show their dignity.

After a while, I saw the Capitol Palace far away, decorated with golden sunshine in the afternoon. The Capitol is massive and carries both ancient and modern architecture. The US Parliament building is surrounded by a complex of trees and wide walks. People can take a walk in this area for sightseeing or jogging for a workout. Around this area, there are 2-storey buses to take visitors to sightseeing. However, the cold weather like this but sitting on the roof of a bus to walk there is cold.

After leaving the Capitol, I continued to go further. Now I can view the Capitol more comprehensively. More interesting is the snow-covered park in front of Capitol. Looks extremely romantic.
