The first trip to Africa, I chose for myself Morocco, located in West North Africa. Expected quite a lot because I heard rumors about beautiful trips, but somewhat faltered because I was so uneasy: The Embassy issued a visa on the wrong date so my journey from 2 weeks dropped to more A little bit a week.
But just after coming down to the beautiful Marrakech airport, all disappointment turned into the most positive state. Let’s go through my short but full journey.
You just need to read this article carefully to follow it, Moroccan visa is not difficult, only has a review time of 2-3 weeks and if you are in Saigon, you have to send documents to Hanoi.
This is the best and easiest way if you don’t know how to drive. You can book a tour through popular travel websites or go to a place where you can stay at the Riad. Usually buying at the Riad is a little cheaper and can be negotiated.
This tour has 3 types, 1 is 2 days 1 night for only 59 euros, but I recommend not going because you cannot enter the desert depth, 2 is 3 days 2 nights going and returning in Marrakech for 89 euros, 3 is 3 days Two nights going to Marrakech, back in Fes, I picked up the 3rd category for 169 euros because it would take time to travel back to Marrakech. I want to go to Fes because it sounds beautiful (and beautiful).
Day 1: You will be traveling through Ksar city Ait Ben Haddou, which filmed a lot of famous movies like Gladiator, Game of Thrones, Prince of Persia and Cleopatra. Then cross the Valley of Roses and rest at a decent hotel in Dades.
Day 2: is a great highlight when you move away from Dades to Merzouga. Across a beautiful green valley you will be dropped in to see people weaving carpets, I think it is not very interesting, stand outside because the carpet is quite expensive. Then the whole group will arrive at Merzouga at around 3:30 pm. You will now be riding a camel for 1 hour to the campsite in the middle of the Sahara Desert.
Big baggage can leave a bus, just bring your backpack, and you can rest assured that the tour is very good so the accommodation is no less than the hotel, there is a full toilet, just don’t have a bath . After dinner, you can gather at the campfire and watch the stars.
Day 3: At this time the group will split into 2, 1 group going back to Marrakech, the rest will go to Fes. I remarked that the passage to Fes was very nice because I was walking across Ziz Valley, then Irfane had an amazing snow-white forest. 17:30 is your arrival in Fes.
The easiest means to travel between cities is trains. You can check the train schedule on the website but I don’t understand why the payment on the web is not possible. Having tried 5 different cards is useless. But be assured, you only need to go to the train station 1 hour in advance to buy and go. My ticket from Fes to Marrakech is only about 19 euros per person.
